Each Tessoria Asolana carpet is a unique and unrepeatable piece: it comes from an entirely artisanal process, with 100% Sardinian wool fabrics and a supply chain that embraces the best experiences of Italian know-how. Hands are the common thread of our creative process: hands linked to the rhythm of time, to the work ethic, to the quality of the material. In all its phases Tessoria Asolana brings with it the rediscovery and return to ancient processes. From the winding of the wool to the warping, from the knotting to the weaving, up to the packaging: every process is done by hand.

The designer Davide Brugiolo weaves using the ancient 4-heddle wooden looms from the 1800s, with wool from the north of Sardinia – the same used for Pibiones, typical Sardinian fabrics obtained with grain weaving. Furthermore, from Davide’s continuous research, the Opere Uniche collection also came to life, which sees the recovery of waste but very precious materials: the selvedges of wool fabrics from Lanificio Paoletti, a historic Italian company active since 1795. The projects may vary depending on the quantity of material available: it is possible to optimize the creation, if the starting material is scarce, to create unique works or, if the starting material is abundant, it is possible to create projects to obtain a limited edition of the same model. The direct creation on the loom highlights the malleability of the selvages: trapped, free to come out completely or halfway, managed according to a predefined design, they always guarantee a satisfactory result from an aesthetic point of view.

The packaging of Tessoria Asolana’s products takes place entirely by hand, in a slow, precise, but also imperfect manner: from the joining of the pieces to the finishing of the fringes, passing through the vaporization of the wool, the carpet completes its transformation cycle.
