Fatto a mano

Davide Brugiolo

Davide Brugiolo, born in Belluno in 1986, studied at the Bruno Munari Art Institute in Vittorio Veneto in the Fashion and Costume section and graduated from the Academy of Art High School. Since 2013 his research has shifted towards manual weaving. He presented himself at the Salone Satellite in Milan with the Ri-mossa project in 2014 and collaborated for a few years with the Lanificio Paoletti recovering and re-weaving fabrics and processing waste. He has always been passionate about reworking images, surfaces and objects, bringing them new perspectives. Seeing the same thing with “different eyes” fuels his experiments. Thus, a continuous process begins in the textile world, especially as a rug designer. His work is known thanks to exhibitions and events in the Veneto area, but above all with the production of carpets in the relaunch project of the historic Tessoria Asolana which gave him and the brand access to the ADI catalog with “ORFEO” (2021) and a Green Wood design award with “APOLLO” in the same year. In 2024 he presents his new collection of Opere Uniche carpets designed for Tessoria Asolana, in a 1/1 edition, made with sustainable Sardinian wool dyed with non-toxic pigmentations and precious recycled materials.

“My research is oriented towards the experimental creation of textile surfaces through the use of the 4-heddle manual loom. It is a limited edition product, handcrafted which aims to underline, through simple techniques, the importance of material and color as a form of expression.”
